Q. |
What weight can i carry on the roof rack i have selected? |
|

Your vehicle handbook will supply the answer to this question, but as a general rule if the handbook says the roof weight limit for your vehicle is 100kg and the roof rack you have purchased weighs 30kg then the payload will be 70kg. |

Q. |
Will a roof rack increase a vehicle's center of gravity? |
|
A. |
Center of gravity should be taken into account while loading your roof rack. A large load would increase the vehicle's center of gravity and its likelihood of rolling over. At least you should feel that your vehicle will sway more than normal while driving.
Always obey manufacturer guidelines while loading roof racks.
Also be aware that your vehicle is now higher. While this should be common sense, people often neglect this fact. Be sure to have this in mind when parking in the underground carparks and before drive in your own garage. |

Q. |
Wind noise? |
|
1) |
Try fitting a wind deflector to the front bar of the roof rack, it should help keep wind noise and drag to a minimum - great for improved fuel efficiency. |
|
2) |
If the wind noise is still there, try moving the roof rack back or forwards a little (if possible) and ensure that you have followed the manufacturers instructions on fitting the roof rack. |
|
3) |
If the problem persists, you may have a roof rack that is not suitable for your vehicle and you should consider changing it, as it is costing you money. |
